About the Blue Marans

The Blue is the self-black equivalent diluted by a single copy of the Andalusian blue gene, giving an even slate-grey plumage. Because blue does not breed true, Blue x Blue matings yield roughly 50% blue, 25% black and 25% splash. It is a non-standard colour in most registries but retains the breed's dark chocolate egg.
