About the Blue Copper Marans

The Blue Copper is the Black Copper diluted by a single copy of the blue gene: the black areas become an even slate-blue while the copper hackle and shoulder markings remain (though softened). It has existed about as long as the Black Copper but is not officially standardised; Black Copper x Splash Copper yields 100% Blue Copper. Lays the breed's dark egg.
