About the Blue Cuckoo Marans

Blue Cuckoo combines the dominant barring of the cuckoo with a single dose of the blue gene, softening the usual black bars to slate-blue over the lighter ground so the barring reads grey-on-pale-blue rather than black-and-white. A non-standard colour produced through blue breeding, it still lays the breed's deep chocolate-brown egg.
