About the Columbian Marans
In the Columbian pattern the recessive Columbian restriction confines black to the extremities, giving a white or light body with black-laced hackle, black tail and wing markings. Recognised in the French standard, it is an uncommon Marans colour that still lays the breed's distinctive dark chocolate egg.
