About the Salmon Marans
The Salmon (Golden Salmon) is named for the salmon reddish-brown breast of the hen, which also shows a light golden, black-tipped hackle; cocks are very different, resembling the wheaten/brown-red cock with a coppery hackle and black breast but a cinnamon-fawn wing bay. It is a non-standard variety not recognised by the APA, and the salmon breast distinguishes it from true partridge. Lays the breed's dark egg.
