About the Splash Copper Marans
Splash Copper carries two copies of the blue gene over the copper-black pattern, lightening the body to a pale splashed ground while the double blue dose also dilutes much of the copper. A non-standard colour, it is prized as a breeding bird: mated to a Black Copper it produces 100% Blue Copper offspring. Retains the breed's dark chocolate egg.
