About the Wheaten Marans

In the Wheaten, hens show the soft pale wheat-fawn body with a darker mahogany hackle typical of the wheaten pattern, while cocks carry the classic golden hackle and saddle over a black breast and tail. Recognised in the French standard and one of only four APA-recognised Marans varieties (with Black, Black Copper and White), it lays the breed's deep-brown egg.
