About the Black Marsh Daisy
Based on Extension of Black (E) genes, the Black should carry solid black plumage with a beetle-green sheen throughout; because gold or white striping can surface late in neck and saddle hackles, breeders pick the darkest birds and wait until cockerels are two before selecting. Markedly rarer than the Brown, Buff and Wheaten, it is one of the original five PCGB colours that enthusiasts are still working to stabilise in this scarce willow-legged breed.
