About the Brown Marsh Daisy
Genetically the wild-type colour (a pair of e+ core genes), the Brown is distinguished from the Wheaten by rich gold hackles, a beetle-green-black tail, and a dark bay breast and undercolour; hens show a partridge pattern with gold-and-black striped neck hackles and salmon breasts, cocks closely echoing Red Jungle Fowl. Along with Buff and Wheaten it is one of the breed's three main colours in this thrifty, willow-legged heritage forager.
