About the Wheaten Marsh Daisy
Built on a pair of eWh genes plus the Dark Brown (Ginger) gene, the Wheaten is the breed's most demanding colour: hens carry a chestnut hackle black-tipped only at the base, red-wheat upper body, white-wheat lower body and breast, and a triangular light-brown wing patch, while cocks resemble Red Jungle Fowl with a beetle-green-sheened black tail. One of the three main, most-kept colours of this rare willow-legged Lancashire layer.
