About the Birchen Modern Game
A black-bodied bird relieved by silvery-white striping on the head, hackle and a laced upper breast, the rest solid black with a green sheen. Birchens characteristically show all-dark points — black beak, legs and toes and a dark eye, with a mulberry-to-black face. It was one of the breed's original recognised varieties and is the silver-based parallel to the lemon-laced brown-red.
