About the Black-Red Wheaten Modern Game
Shares the black-breasted red cock of the standard black-red, but is defined by its hen: a soft, even wheat-coloured female ranging from golden to chestnut with only light black in the tail and hackle, instead of the heavily pencilled partridge hen. Both forms sit within the breed's foundational black-red group, carried on the same tall, hard-feathered exhibition frame with willow legs.
