About the Brown-Red Modern Game
A striking dark variety: lustrous lemon-to-deep-orange head and hackle striped with black, a black breast finely laced with the same lemon, and an otherwise solid black body in both sexes. The modern show standard demands clean breast lacing in cock and hen alike, and brown-reds typically show the dark furnishings, mulberry-to-black face and dark eye associated with birchen-based colours. One of the breed's original recognised varieties.
