About the Crele Modern Game
A barred form of the black-red: the sex-linked barring gene breaks up the colour so the cock shows orange-red barred with pale straw on head, hackle, back and saddle and grey-and-white barring elsewhere, while the hen is a soft grey barred with gold and salmon. The result is a distinctive crele dappling laid over black-red ground colour. A less common variety on the breed's hard, upright frame.
