About the Pile Modern Game

Effectively a black-red with the black replaced by white: the cock keeps the rich orange-red hackle, back, saddle and wing-bay but on a white ground, giving a bright red-on-white bird, while hens are creamy-white with salmon breast. Pile birds carry yellow legs and beak rather than the willow of the black-reds. It was one of the original Modern Game colours standardised for exhibition.
