About the Buff Nankin
The Nankin's sole colour: a rich golden-buff to chestnut body set off by a contrasting black tail. Hens show a lighter chestnut with black-tipped tail feathers, while cocks are deeper-toned with black tail and flight feathers and long black sickles. Slate-blue legs are correct (occasional white legs from a recessive gene are a fault). Found in both single- and rose-comb forms, this jaunty true bantam is critically rare and prized as a historic broody.
