About the Crele Old English Game
The crele is a barred form of the black-red, the cuckoo barring gene breaking the red and black into soft bands so the cock shows pale orange-and-cream barred hackle and saddle over a grey-barred breast. Recognised in the Carlisle standard, it is one of the more unusual and decorative patterned colours of this hard-feathered British heritage game fowl.
