About the Silver Old English Pheasant Fowl
The Silver replaces the Gold's bay ground with clear white feathering, each feather finished with the same crescent-shaped black spangle, giving beetle-green/black markings over a silver base. It is by far the rarer of the two colours, long described as scarce or near-unknown, making it a conservation priority within an already rare northern breed. In all other respects it matches the Gold: a spangled, pheasant-like hill fowl with a rose comb that lays white eggs and forages thriftily.
