About the Chocolate Cuckoo Orpington
The Chocolate Cuckoo lays the cuckoo barring over a chocolate base, so the dark bars appear as warm brown rather than blue-black, giving a brown-toned barred bird. It draws on the sex-linked chocolate gene combined with sex-linked barring, making it one of the rarer and more recent Orpington colours. Not a PCGB standard colour, but full Orpington in type and temperament.
