About the Crele Orpington
The Crele is a barred partridge: the cuckoo barring gene laid over a partridge base, producing gold-and-cream barred males and softer, greyer-barred females with the pattern differing between the sexes. Developed in Denmark and still rare in the UK, it can vary in ground colour from gold to silver between birds. A non-standard colour carried on the usual big, gentle Orpington frame.
