About the Cuckoo Orpington
The Cuckoo shows the classic barred pattern — a light blue-grey ground crossed on every feather by bands of darker blue-black, giving a soft, irregular striping. It is one of the PCGB-recognised Orpington colours and the foundation for the breed's other barred forms. Underneath the pattern it is a standard Orpington: large, soft-feathered, even-tempered and a reliable light-brown-egg layer.
