About the Isabel Orpington
Isabel (Isabella) is a lavender-diluted partridge: the lavender gene softens the black areas to pale grey and mutes the red of the partridge pattern to a delicate yellow-orange, giving a pastel, washed-out version of partridge. It is largely a European-bred, non-standard colour and one of the rarer Orpingtons. The bird otherwise keeps the breed's heavy, soft-feathered, gentle type.
