About the Partridge Orpington
The Partridge is a sexually dimorphic pattern: cocks show black breast and tail with rich red-gold hackles and saddle, while hens carry an intricately pencilled brown body, each feather marked with concentric darker rings on a golden-brown ground. It is the brown 'wild-type' style colour and the base from which Crele and Isabel are bred. Not a PCGB standard colour, but otherwise a typical large, calm Orpington.
