About the Spangled Orpington
The Spangled is a black-and-white variety: black plumage with each feather tipped by a white spangle, the two colours showing in roughly equal proportion for a crisp, evenly mottled effect rather than a ticked or blotchy one. It is one of the seven PCGB-recognised Orpington colours. Apart from the pattern it is a typical Orpington — heavy, soft-feathered, calm and a dependable light-brown-egg layer.
