About the White Orpington
The White Orpington carries pure snow-white plumage throughout, with the breed's deep, soft, abundant feathering showing the colour off cleanly. Introduced by William Cook in 1889, it is one of the PCGB-recognised standard colours. As with all Orpingtons it is a heavy, gentle dual-purpose bird that lays light-brown eggs and makes a reliable broody.
