About the Barred Pekin Bantam

The Barred Pekin carries sharply defined black bars across each feather over a paler ground, giving a crisper, more steely effect than the softer Cuckoo. It is one of the colours recognised in the UK standard and the regular barring shows well across the breed's profusely feathered, rounded body. Barred Pekins keep the docile, broody character common to the breed.
