About the Birchen Pekin Bantam
Birchen is essentially a reverse-Columbian: the hackle, back, saddle and wing-bows are silver-white over a rich black body, with each breast feather finely margined in silver lacing. A recognised UK colour, the sharp silver-on-black edging is striking against the breed's full, rounded outline. Birchen Pekins share the breed's gentle, broody temperament.
