About the Cuckoo Pekin Bantam
The Cuckoo Pekin is barred rather than self-coloured: each feather is evenly banded with dark slate across a light French-grey ground, giving a soft, blurred barring distinct from sharp Barred. Recognised in the UK standard, the pattern is carried over the breed's profusely feathered, cushioned body. Cuckoos retain the Pekin's docile, broody pet temperament.
