About the Lavender Pekin Bantam

Lavender (self-blue) is a pale, silvery dove-grey that, unlike Blue, breeds true and shows no lacing or splashing. It is produced by a recessive gene, so two copies are needed for the colour to appear. A more recent addition to the recognised Pekin colours, its soft pastel tone is much admired on the breed's rounded, heavily feathered body.
