About the Wheaten Pekin Bantam

Wheaten Pekins show strong sexual dimorphism: hens are a soft, pale cinnamon-wheat colour across the body, while cockerels carry a black-breasted-red type pattern with rich orange-red hackles and saddle over a black breast and tail. It is one of the rarer Pekin colours, recognised in the Australian standard and emerging on UK show benches. The plumage sits on the breed's ball-shaped, heavily foot-feathered true-bantam frame; docile and very broody.
