About the Partridge Penedesenca
The Partridge (Aperdizada) carries the standard partridge pattern: pencilled brown hens and black-breasted, gold-and-red hackled cocks. Within the breed it is marked by bluish-slate shanks and toes and a dark-horn beak. A lighter laying-type Penedesenca, it produces the breed's signature near-black chocolate eggs and bears the distinctive lobed carnation comb.
