About the Buff Plymouth Rock
An even, golden-buff bird, the standard calling for a true golden hue free of lemon, red or brown shading and uniform from head to tail. First shown in 1890 in Rhode Island as the Golden Buff and developed in part from Buff Cochin and Light Brahma blood, it is one of the five varieties recognised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain. The warm colour sits on the same sturdy, cold-hardy dual-purpose frame as the Barred.
