About the Partridge Plymouth Rock
A richly patterned variety: hens show warm reddish-brown ground with fine concentric black pencilling on each feather, while cocks carry contrasting black breast and greenish-black tail over red hackle and saddle. Developed from Partridge Cochin, Dark Cornish, Brown Leghorn and Golden Wyandotte crosses onto the Barred Rock, it is one of the showier and rarer Plymouth Rock colours, carrying the breed's dual-purpose build under an intricate game-bird pattern.
