About the Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock
The silver counterpart of the Partridge: hens have a soft grey ground with delicate, distinct dark pencilling following the contour of each feather, and silvery-white hackles centred with black. Cocks are boldly marked in black and silvery white across hackle, saddle and breast. An intricate, lacy pattern and one of the less common Plymouth Rock varieties, it pairs ornamental plumage with the breed's reliable dual-purpose, brown-egg-laying nature.
