About the Black-Crested White Poland
The reverse of the familiar White-Crested Black: a white body crowned by a lustrous black crest — an uncommon and harder-to-fix pattern, since large crests tend genetically to default to white and extra colour genes are needed to hold a black crest of full size. A rarer ornamental variety prized for the dramatic inversion of the breed's signature contrast.
