About the Self Black Poland

A self-black Poland — even, lustrous beetle-green black throughout the body and crest, with none of the white crest cap of the White-Crested Black. One of the original show colours; the self and laced varieties are shown bearded and muffed, unlike the clean-faced white-crested types. Kept purely for ornament, laying small white eggs.
