About the Black Scots Dumpy

The Black Scots Dumpy shows glossy black plumage with a green sheen in both sexes, set off by black or slate beak, legs and feet and dark eyes — distinct from the breed's other colours, which carry white legs. Black is one of the two original, fully standardised colours and is among the most widely kept, carried on the breed's famously short-legged 'creeper' body as a calm, good-broody dual-purpose bird.
