About the Cuckoo Scots Dumpy
Cuckoo is one of the Scots Dumpy's two original colours: each feather carries a light blue-grey ground crossed by bands of darker blue-grey, giving a soft barred effect, with a mottled beak, legs and feet and red eyes. Standardised by the breed club and among the most widely seen, it sits on the breed's low-slung, short-legged 'creeper' frame as a calm dual-purpose layer of cream-tinted eggs.
