About the Gold Laced Sebright
The Gold Sebright shows the breed's precise black lacing over a rich dark-gold (golden-bay) ground, each tight feather edged all round in a narrow even margin of black. It is regarded as the original variety, developed by Sir John Sebright over roughly two decades from crosses including a buff Nankin bantam, and only later joined by the silver. As in all Sebrights the cocks are hen-feathered with no sickle tails, and gold and silver are the only two colours recognised in the UK. A small, ornamental true bantam laying small cream eggs.
