About the Exchequer Serama
Exchequer plumage is black and white roughly evenly distributed across the bird — a checkered look with white feather under-colour, distinct from a mottled or spangled pattern. It is one of the earliest accepted American Serama colours, shown alongside white and black. The crisp two-tone coat draws the eye to the breed's signature upright, chest-forward posture on a chicken standing barely 25cm tall — a tame ornamental pet laying tiny cream eggs.
