About the Black Silkie
Black Silkies aim for solid, even jet-black fur-like plumage carrying a green sheen in the light, with the face, comb and wattles a dark mulberry approaching black for a uniformly dark bird. A PCGB and APA standard colour, the black harmonises with the breed's naturally dark skin and bones; cock birds may throw a little gold or silver in the hackle with age.
