About the Paint Silkie

Paint Silkies are a white-ground bird scattered with random, irregular jet-black patches — a Dalmatian-like look produced by a single dominant white gene over a black base. They do not breed true: paint to paint can give paint, pure white or black chicks. APA-recognised in the US, it is distinct from splash, which has a blue ground with blue splashes rather than white with black.
