About the Partridge Silkie
Partridge is the patterned Silkie, based on the wild-type colour: hens show soft brown ground with fine black pencilling over each feather, while cocks carry richer red-gold hackle and saddle with a black breast and tail. Widely held to be one of the hardest Silkie patterns to get right, it is a recognised standard colour with both the PCGB and APA.
