About the Splash Silkie
Splash Silkies have a pale, near-white or very light blue ground irregularly broken by uneven splashes of darker blue and grey, the result of two copies of the blue gene (homozygous blue). Because of this, splash bred to splash gives all splash, while splash crossed to black produces blue. It is an APA-recognised standard colour and a routine by-product of any blue Silkie breeding programme.
