About the White Silkie

The classic and most widely kept Silkie, white birds carry pure recessive white plumage so the fur-like feathering reads as a clean, solid snow-white from crest to feathered feet, set off dramatically against the breed's dark skin, mulberry face and turquoise earlobes. It is a fully recognised standard colour with both the PCGB and APA, and remains the iconic gentle, intensely broody ornamental Silkie.
