About the Splash Silverudd's Blue
The splash variety carries two copies of the blue dilution gene, giving a pale, near-white ground broken by scattered blue-grey speckling; splash chicks hatch yellow. Being homozygous, splash bred to splash produces only splash, while splash crossed to black gives all-blue chicks. Like the rest of the breed it is calm, cold-hardy and a steady layer of naturally green eggs.
