About the Brown Sussex
A distinctly British colour not found in the American standard, the Brown Sussex is essentially a very dark red bird, deeper and more sombre in ground colour than the Red. Recognised by the Poultry Club of Great Britain, it is among the rarer Sussex colours while keeping the breed's dual-purpose build and tinted egg.
