About the Cuckoo Sussex
One of England's oldest and best-loved farmyard breeds, the Sussex is a classic dual-purpose chicken from the south-east county it's named for. The Light Sussex — a clean white body set off by a black neck and tail — is the most familiar variety. A reliable layer of tinted (warm cream) eggs and a good table bird, it's a sound all-rounder for gardens and smallholdings.
