About the Red Sussex
The Red Sussex wears the same Columbian-style markings as the Light, but its ground colour is a rich dark red carried throughout the body rather than white. It is one of the three colours recognised by both the PCGB and the American Poultry Association, and shares the breed's reliable laying of tinted eggs and good table qualities.
