About the Speckled Sussex
Speckled Sussex carries a rich dark-mahogany ground, each feather tipped with a white spot separated from the body colour by a bar of glossy greenish-black — a mottling that deepens and spreads with every annual moult. One of the oldest Sussex colours and recognised in both the UK and US, it keeps the breed's dependable laying of tinted eggs and good table conformation.
